All of our Hot-Rod-ModTM products are based on our growing family of High Performance patented Pickup Switch UpgradeTM products. These incredible products are designed to give you MORE Pure Analog pickup sounds than you ever thought possible. How many? That depends on the number of directly-accessible pickup coils in your instrument. Instruments with four pickup coils will immediately get 76 unique pickup sounds after the upgrade. A 3-pickup coil instrument will give you 35 unique pickup sounds. Your 2-pickup coil instrument will now have 6 (100 percent More) unique pickup sounds. And because these products are completely passive, there are no batteries to go dead or fragile electronics to stop working — which generally always happens when you are recording or performing.
Detail-oriented people will note that we use the term "pickup coil" rather than "pickup" when referring to the number of coils that each of our products control. The reason is because there are instruments with 4-wire humbuckers. Although this is technically one pickup package, it actually gives you access to two separate pickup coils that can be independently controlled and combined for a substantial range of pickup tones.

Our growing family of high performance patented Pickup Switch UpgradeTM products are the future for all electric guitar and bass players. All of our upgrades use the following core Switch Upgrade types.
- The T4-Switch gives you control of all instruments (Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazz Bass and all other instruments) with either two 4-wire humbucker pickups, one 4-wire humbucker pickup and two single-coil pickups, four single-coil pickups or any similar configuration. Using six switches to control four coils this product will give you 76 pickup tones.
- The T3-Switch controls all instruments (Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazz Bass and all other instruments) with 3-pickup coils. This can be an instrument with either three single-coil pickups, one 4-wire humbucker pickup and one single-coil pickup, or any similar configuration. Using six switches to control three coils this product will give you 35 pickup tones.
- The T2-Switch controls all instruments (Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazz Bass and all other instruments) with 2-pickup coils. This can be an instrument with either two single-coil pickups, one 4-wire humbucker pickup, or any similar configuration. Using three switches to control two coils this product will give you 6 pickup tones.
- The T2P-Switch is designed for any standard Precision Bass or equivalent instrument to give you 4 pickup tones.

This switching system cannot be used with active (battery-powered) pickups or piezeoelectric pickups.
Active (i.e., battery-powered) pickups manufactured by Bartolini, EMG, Seymour Duncan, etc. will not work with our growing family of high performance patented Pickup Switch UpgradeTM products. These active pickups use a design that prevents any of the pickups from being put into series because it sends -9VDC back to the first pickup, shorting out the circuit. Although some manufacturers now sell "add on" products to give you some of the functionality that our products automatically provide, this design limits their versatility and increases the cost to the musician. Many people who have tried these products remove them because they are "too sterile sounding". Anything that uses batteries will likely go dead at a crucial time - like when you're performing or in the recording studio. Bill Lawrence was right when he said, "Batteries belong in flashlights."
